dim lights

I have noticed over the past week that the dash lights and headlights appear somewhat less bright. I have checked the chasey ground and it is good. The regulator feels a bit warm after only several minutes of running. Is that normal or could that be the culprit?

Found the problem guys. Thanks anyway. Bad connection on the alternator burned the regulator out.:-X23

I was just about to suggest that was the problem.
