Throttle cable linkage??? Quick estimation

I am curiuos, I did it using a longer cable with a homemade bracket off a header stud, but what did everyone else use for a throttle cable linkage going to there carb? Is there a aftermarket braket that lokar has or even cable that looks good? Mine works fine, but just like to hear what every1 else did. Also is there much of a difference between the flow of a Offenhauser and Clifford intake? The offenhauser says 360 equaflow dual plane?? Kinda of a contidiction to me,360 Equaflow are always single planes I thought.
Well thanks for any info.

I got away with using the stock cable and bracket. I drilled a hole in the bracket and bolted it to the intake bolt and used a 1 1/2 inch carb spacer. It works great.

I'd like to do that but the stock cable was long enough for you??? Mine came up short when I tried to use mine, had to use an extention piece, to get by. Is your linkage in front or to the rear of your motor?

my linkage is to the rear of the motor. for the offy intake for the primary carb bores to be in the top of the dual plane intake the carb has to be mounted with the linkage in the rear.

What carb are you using? If you turn mine around to mount in the rear it would actaully have to push it open. Am I missing something? I am running a Carter AFB 500 CFM, I do like the carb. I reember I did try mounting it like that, but like I said it would have had tobe pushed open instead of pulled. Is there any way of changing the linkage around?? Really interested in hearing what your did, would be great to use the stock bracket and cable again!!

My edelbrock is mounted the same as your carter. I used a Lokar throttle bracket and cable to hook mine up. I got the "high-tech" which just means its a steel braided line instead of a plain black plastic. Looks good.

That is an awesome idea, if you could remeber what throttle cable bracket from Lokar worked for you? Is it coming off the carb stud? Is it a Lokar cable? Sounds really cool. Thanks

My carb is a holley 390cfm and the linkage is on the rear and the cable is pulling the linkage not pushing it.

I just got the universal Lokar bracket (LOK-SRK-4000 @ summit). Yes, it comes off the carb stud and I used the LOK-TC-1000HT36 throttle cable. Looks real nice (too bad that crappy valve cover I bought rusted out with the quickness).

Yea I hear that about the valve cover, I am sick of those valve covers samething happened to my 300, I am sing Aluminum on my 302 in my mustang they are really nice, or on my 400 in my bronco I took a pair of stock sand blasted and used a nice wrinkle finish powder coating it looks awesome and is as durable as hell!!! I am thinking about doing this with my 300, and get rid of the crappy chrome one. I think I have my old cover if not there are many out there!! Just an idea for you, hint hint. Good time to get a new toy, they sell the machines all the time on ebay, and all you need is an old electric oven. Just a thought!!! Looks beter than chrome I think!

Well, me an a bud are getting into fibreglass, carbon fibre and powdercoating. So i'm not sure if i'm going to take stock and wrap it in carbon fibre for looks, powdercoat it, or send it out to be chromed. This one I got for $25 from SSAutochrome.com is garbage. They sent me the wrong one the first time (no big deal, it happens) and the 'correct' one had a baffle in the wrong place (hit a rocker) and was just a bad fit anyway. Plus, it rusted before I even started the motor. Its also plain, while the stocker (83 and previous) say "Power by Ford" on the cover, which I like a whole lot

Who knows, if anyone is interested I may do custom powdercoated or carbon fibre covers....

That is cool to hear....I delt with the same place SS auto chrome a while back when I was building my 400. I told them I needed a dip stick for it, also told them it was an in-pan dip stick, rear sump. They sent me comletely the wrong item. In that order I also bought a water neck wow was it an el cheapo!!!! I am catching a pattern here!!!
