Well, i got my new BD transmission installed after cooking my previous stock transmission. New converter, new fluid, all line flushed, everything by the book.
Whenever the other transmission was going out the main problem was it high revved when shifting into overdrive. Just a plain slip. I limped that tranny until it died.
The new one has all strong gears as long as I don't push the pedal past 5% throttle. If I put any strain on the tranny by giving it normal acceleration it will high rev and not shift into overdrive right away. I can rev it up to redline, let off, then it will kick into overdrive.
I've only done this a few times and don't want to do it anymore on a brand new transmission.
I am going to pull my chip out tomorrow and maybe see if will do it again but I pulled it before when I had the old transmission and it reacted the same.
What kind of problem can this be??? THIS IS A NEW TRANSMISSION!!
is your OD light blinking at all?? maybe the VSS on the rear end ?? did you by chance blow out the lines going to the cooler.?? when my TC went out..parts of the clutches went into the cooler and pluged it up..is the chip set up for the BTS VB?? man your not having a very good week....
the OD light is not blinking......... the lines on the cooler are new because I pulled everything off and cleaned it out, put new rubber hose..... the chip is not set up for the valve body but jody and I are going to working on that, so far I have not turned the chip on.
its a speed sensor. it might cause pcm to read speed incorrectly which would cause your trans to shift like crap. but i would have it scaned to see if you have any codes stored, instead looking blind for the problem......
I'm believe he means the one on the pumkin. But what catches my eye is the answer to the question of blowing out the line.IN his answer he said he replace the cooler lines. But did not say that the cooler was blown out.Was it or not?Thats a huge problem not.
For the cooler I used a solvent to clean it out. I sprayed some cleaner into it, shook it vigorously and dumped it out. I never saw any chunks for anything come out.
vss is on the rear end..but if it was that the OD light would have flashed on and off then stop..you may have missed it blinking..like Pete said check it for codes..if it ever did flash..i will store a code...
I've driven this vehicle again and it seems like it's something electrical. It shifts good.....when it shifts......and it's very eratic. All my lines are good, fluid level is good, pulled the VSS in the rear end and cleaned it.
This thing is new transmission and I need to get it moving. I've been without this truck for two months now......
Any more suggestions? Someone I can take it to?
Another note.... I have not seen the OD light blink yet.
One question I have is when it does finally shift does it lock the tc? Can you tell if the TC is actually locking? From the video it looks like the TC is not locked then it locks, almost like there is no stall in the tc to get things moving.
