Are all brake pads the same, or is there one that is better for ower trucks? I also heard that ceramic pads can eat up the rotors? I have a 2001 f-250 4x4 cc.
the number one cause of warped rotors are cheap/low performance brake pads. YES the is a big difference in them! i have been very happy with performance friction carbon matalic pads for many years now. i have also heard that the hawk LTS pads are very good as well.
... and if you couple the Hawk LTS pads with cryoed powerslots, you have a winner!
The cryogenically treated rotors are more expensive, but are tougher and reportedly don't warp.
The "powerslot" feature also works towards preventing warping AND increasing braking power because it allows the gases to vent past the pads more easily.
OK i have found the hawk lts brake pads for $84 front and $73 rear is this a fair price or do i need to look some more and and i dont think i will be changing the rotors yet but thank you and when i do have to change them i will keep this in mind
