how can i tell when my tc is going bad? my truck is not wanting to shift it seems like. i just wanted to hold a gear. no loss of power on a grade. but there are some times when the truck will be going faster say 40-47 or so and the rpm's dont climb but the speedo will move. when it shifts its firm and quick (thank you dp) and some times to get it to shift into overdrive i will need to let off and get back on it. its a real pain at like 45mph it won't kick into over drive untill i hit 50.(pain because the speed limit is 45) is this to keep the tranny cooler? please help so i don't buy a part i don't need. (but i am saving up for a new tc n-e way) thank you for your time
I hate to ring in on this one because somebody is going to call me an idiot....
I have a manual and one thing I saw in it is that the MAP sensor, APP sensor, and the IAT sensor are all used in determining line pressure and shifting schedule in the trans.
I am fairly certain that you should get an indicator light if any of these are out of range but I don't know what would happen if they are just a decent bit out of calibration but still functioning.
i was thinking about somthing(i know stop the press) but may i be feeling this from my tranny(slipping and theb going) due to the dp tuner and what i guess is called "tip in fuel"? flees like it wont go and then just a little more fuel and it takes off. it don't feel like that is stock mode but its alot less hp and tq.
