ok so when i put my tranny back in my truck i realized there is a connector on the top of the tranny. it is above the fill plug but behind the shifter and off to the left side of the tranny. i was wondering what this could be for? thanks

I am/was wondering about that too when I was putting new plugs in my tranny.

I am going to search these forums a bit, I know a couple guys posted broken apart views of each piece of the m50d, maybe it is in there.

Is it a reverse sensor, to put on lights for reverse?

My initial findings is that reverse lights work without it, people were reporting. So they were thinking neutral/clutch engagement sensor or something along those lines. The funniest thing is some people have them and some don't, and others have it on the passenger side???? Granted these were rangers but you would thing they would the same.

So, the consensus has been for neutral etc. for cruise control.

Alright I will trust radialarm.

I thought those guys on that ranger forum were messed up anyways. That is what you get for using google and a non-fte forum.

It makes sense, because where else would the truck sense reverse, other than the at position of the shifter rails.

It gets the signal for rev. off the shift rails there is no neutral switch. Why would you need it you have clutch pedal position switch.
