Cool ''88 Ford 7.3 deisel

I am having problems with my ford deisel. First. The problem. I Started the truck, it started perfectly fine. I drove about a block and the truck died. It didnt sputter. It didn't do anything out of the ordinary. It just died. I tried to start it. It will not fire off. It sounds like it is trying to start fine. It sounds normal. But won't fire off. Somebody told me it is the camshaft position sensor. I have tried to find this part. Some people told me it doesn't have one. Does this truck have one or not? some other folks say it is the fuel injection pump, but that will cause lack of power and poor starts and sputters and such. This just died. There are not mechanical sounds out of the ordinary. Help me PLEASE.

you do not have a cam sensor. yours is the old idi. it is all mechanical. there is one wire going to the injector pump. if you have power replace the fuel cutoff relay. if you don't then you need to trace it down to a wire problem or the igntion switch. that one wire is the only thing electrical on your engine.

There are 2 wires on the fuel injector pump. When I turn on the ignition it one makes a click sound. The other does not. When I run a jumper from the positive to the battery. It makes a click sound. I tried starting it than it still did not start. Could the fuel injection pump be bad? I put my ear up to it there is no sound with ignition on and jumpers run to the wires on top to the battery.? Where is the fuel cutoff relay??

is it getting fuel smoking when turning over or check for fuel by having someone crank it while you press the valve above your fuel filter fuel should spray out. If not suspect faulty pickup pump or switching valve for dual tank trucks

The mechanical fuel pump is brand new. The fuel switch is good. I take of the filter and it squirts where it would go into the filter. It does spray out the valve.
