Shifter question.
Does anyone know how to get the shifter **** off a 2001 or so (im asuming theyre all the same) off the shifter? It seems like its glued on or something. Maybe heat it up? I tried for a while and couldnt get it.
Or, if anyone knows who makes a aftermarket shifter for it Id be interrested.
EDIT: never mind, i finally found an answer. took a while. i do want to know if anyone makes a aftermarket shifter though. B&M and Hurst neither do unless the Hurst F150 will work. O, and its the 5 speed.

i wanted like a Hurst or B&M but they dont make them. just to look cool. thats all. and, i heated it up with a blow drier for 5 mins then put a open end wrench that barely fit on so it caught the **** and used a hammer. be careful though, i scratched the shifter too. wrap it in tape or something. i put a billet aluminum **** on and it looks pretty good.
