BLOWN y BLOCK?

Just thought I'd post my search here for anyone who's put one of the newer superchargers on a y block, in particular a 63ish f-100?

I am going to try & adapt a paxton, vortech, or other.
thx

Probably the easiest approach although the GMC blowers are the classic application here, but where to find the intake?

Paxton was formed on the lines of the McCullough company.
if i remember correctly, they bought out McCullough.
and McCullough was the company that did the original supercharger kits on the y block.

Tom is correct and wins a prize!

Grafting a paxton/vortech style blower onto any engine is fairly easy - it's a matter of making an accessory bracket to mount the unit in a place where the pulley will have maximum coverage with the belt, as well as fabbing a v-belt pulley for it. If you can't find the pulley, you just bore the center out of a spare pulley and make a new hub and weld it in. Steel is easiest to weld, acquire, and lower cost than aluminum.

A tip in making accessory brackets of any kind - mock them up out of 1/4" plywood first - this way you can adjust the shape, size, hole positions etc. Woodworking is quicker than steel.
