Bent push rod?
Started my truck up this weekend- and heard a loud knocking sound- then turned into a loud vavle tappet sound- Took the vavle cover off and noticed that the 3rd cylinder pushrod was bent horribly- took it out and straigtend it with the 'ole hammer, put it back in- buttoned it up and has been running fine for the past couple of day's- What's up with this? It's my daily driver, new head, cam & lifters (15K or so) It was running real rich for quite some time until I got the carb worked out. Only thing I can think of is a vavle sticking from extra carbon building up. How about running marvel mystery oil in the gas to clean up the head? Any help appriceated.
