Success Again!!

Well after messing around here on the forum I went down to my local China mart and got myself 4-1gal jugs of of Shell Rotella T Syn 5w/40 (usually get 3/1 and 2 qts, but they were out of qts )and a Fram CH9549 filter. Got home and within 30 minutes had old oil out, new oil in and cleaned up the trash. Ready to head to the oil disposal facility, then the post office to mail off my sample to Blackstone and a detour to the local bar for a Burger and Brew (for a job well done!!) I even managed to go to "myford.fordvehicles.com" and enter my service info to my logs so that I have proof of what I've done and can track everything my dealer has done too.
Can't get much easier than that. Here's to FTE for making DIY so simple

Your welcome. That's what FTE is all about. For those who aren't familar with the site here's the link again.... www.myford.fordvehicles.com It's a really good way to keep track of your own service and see what your dealer has done too. Plus you can look up any recalls for your vehicle, schedule service, see maintaince schedules and get money saving cupons

FYI to ******* and others, I just paid off my '05 and as soon as Ford got the final payment they closed out my account at "My Ford". In other words, if you don't owe them money you can't update the service records.

That's odd, because I registered when I bought my '04 F250 PSD and then when I took advantage of the customer loyalty rebate and traded in on the '06 PSD I still had access to both vehicles. Additionally, I'm not even financed thru FMC, I use a local bank. Can't understand what might have lead to your account being closed

Don't know why but 3 days after electronic payoff I had no access. Don't know if paying it off 30 months early could have effected it.

You should be able to register it again (PITA probably). I just registered a truck that has been paid off for years.

so do you have to have a loan through ford to use that website? I entered my VIN and it said it wasn't in their database and to call some 1800 # for assistance.

I bought my '04 PSD used and paid cash. I had trouble registering it, because they said it belonged to someone else. I just called the number and they fixed it right up.

I've been thinking on this and if you were making your monthly payments to Ford thru the website, the system (we all know how computers can be) may have said "okay, that account is paid off" and then deleted it. Try reregistering and see what happens. If you experience any problems then I suggest giving the help number a call

I would sure hate to enter data for 3 years (and not keep the info anywhere else) only to have it all deleted beacuse I paid a loan off. I am still going to keep my log book!!
