Question

Cuts Out While Driving

2002 F250 7.3 PSD

RPM surged then drops to 0, no power. The first time it happened (yesterday) the engine quit and I had to pull over. Restarted and went on my way with no problems. Happened again this morning, lost power for a few seconds, but engine caught and went on my way.

I've viewed other post, could this be the CPS?

Sounds like classic symptoms for a 7.3 CPS. BTW you will get a better response posting this question down in the 7.3 forum instead of the 6.0 forum.

Agreed.. sounds like a classic CPS. Buy an extra for the glove box and toss in a 10mm wrench too. Should be around 20 bucks for a new one.

sounds like CPS to me..they are a lot cheaper now..ask for this part# F7TZ-12K073-B it should not be much more then 25 bucks at the dealer
