I also saw that on wikipedia, I actually had to update the Excursion's page because apperantly some uninformed idiot put that the 2005 Excursion's were available with the 3 valve versions of the V8 and V10 and the 570 lb. ft. of torque 6.0L diesel. It would have been nice if this were true, but unfortunately they didn't. Somebody really should get their facts straight.

I've seen them up close a few times. The suspension has been beefed up, increased alternator capacity, etc... Where the middle seat used to be there's a "radio room" with enough radios to cover, or be programmed for, any frequency from "DC to Daylight." Created to handle virtually any terrestrial or satellite communication needs. Behind the floor to ceiling console is a storage area for more antennas, masts, and some of the overflow of other electronics. Quite impressive but they looked like future maintenance nightmares.
