I have them on my FX4 and they are pretty sturdy. I am a bit over 200lbs and I use them everytime I get in and out of my truck. I have also stood on them for awhile and they seem to be fine. I think they are aluminum though, hollow on the back and I have the plastic covers where you step.
I have them on my 06 screw and love them. They are good and sturdy I use them every time I get into my truck and I am around 280lbs. $75 is a very good deal they cost around $500 from a dealer.

I bought mine through e-bay, stainless throughout, with turned and sealed ends, bolted right on my XL in about 15 minutes. I think I paid 249.00 for the pair. Later Dudes.
I have the factory FX4 chrome nerf bars on my 05 SCREW. They work and look just fine as long as you keep them clean and polished. If you let them get all chipped up they can start to rust.
