side emblem mounnting dimensions

Can someone that has a 73-77 please measure and tell me the distance between the bottom edge of the fender, and the bottom edge of the model emblem? (F-100, 150, 250, etc.) I just got my fenders replaced and want to know where to drill the holes for the new emblems.
Pics to follow soon, hopefully. Ol' Rusty Crusty isn't rusty and crusty anymore!

I don't have anything that old anymore, or I would have chimed in with measurements and pictures. My trucks are now 77-79 vintage. I think 73-76 have the fender emblems. I can have an answer for you tonight, I plan on stopping in at the yard for a chat with the owner.

I missed it by that much The measurements were pulled with a tape measure that had a magnetic tip on it, it stuck to the cowl instead of the upper half of the fender. Deduct 1/4" for that.

Thanks again, this is better as it even shows where to drill the holes.

Dennis, the hole locations look the same to me, your looks like a F250, and so was the truck I measured. On my pictures, you have to remember to subtract 1/4" from the top because my tape was not hooked on the edge, it was bumped to the cowl. Maybe centering and height were not consistant thru the years? I might go measure a few more trucks to day just to satisfy my curiosity.

Believe it or not ... that was the idea

Your dealing with a rocket surgeon here

Now about the 77's ...do you still need that as well ?

They are completely different

I was thinking of making a template and making that available to make it easier for users
