Hey guys. I just joined. I am actually selling my dads 1968 truck in the classified but thought I would say hi. If it doesn't sell I may keep it myself so I will need expert help on issues it would have. I actually learned how to drive in it since our car had burned and the truck became our transportation for a while. I took my drivers test in it with a 10.5 foot camper on back. I got a 97 and the guy said if I could drive it I could drive anything. This was on city streets in Los Angeles in 1971. We used to pull a boat and I have fond memories of skiing at the lake and teenage experiences made possible because of it. I would rather have a 60's bronco but I have other toys I spend money on and the truck would be mine for free.

Thanks Half Breed,

If no one makes a decent offer on my dad’s truck I may keep it myself. It isn't going anywhere in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1:State><st1lace>Virginia</st1lace></st1:State> but sitting at my cousins garage. My only issue I have ever had is it didn't have power steering and it seemed to have loose steering. The last time I drove it, it seemed to have a lot of play in the steering but that could be my imagination as years ago it did and we replaced some bushing by the steering box. It just was a tank to drive compared to later model trucks. But with the 390 it had power and hauled a lot of weight. I guess I will just wait to see what happens with it. Being a one owner truck it would be nice just to have and say my dad was the original owner. Cosmetically it is perfect and I can work on mechanics (especially that year) so it would be easy to maintain for years down the road. Heck I could even upgrade the motor to a gas saving late model. J<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Just let me say 2 words " Street Rod". If it was mine I could see one bad under cover, incognito sleeper. Yep, no pwr steering gets some getting use to but that could be retro fitted. The thing about Pwr steering is like A/C it pulls the power down. I can't see putting a wimpy engine in what is a classic truck but that's just me. Good luck which ever way it goes, and if it sells, maybe it will go to a good home.
