I have both engines. The jeep is an 87 so its 170 hp. The Ford is a 94 and its 150hp. The jeep is fully loaded and ways about 3800lbs. The F150sb tips the scales at 4000lb. Gears are about the same. The jeep has auto and its a 4x4 the Ford is 4x2 and 5spd. The Ford has more low end grunt but the jeep really picks up steam above 2500 rpm. Both engines have been reliable and get decent gas mileage.
