Propane?!?

soooo, why don't anyone speak of propane much? is it cause of the reduction of green stuff (money), or the reduction in the black stuff (smoke). i like both the green and black stuff but isn't propane or water methanol a good way to take power to the next level, while lowering EGTs ===>(gosh i hate those things). IDK.

Here is my take on PP. PP is a combustable. it has a much lower flash point then diesel (its more flammable) On diesel the fuel is only injected when it time for it to be burned. When PP is injected with the air intake it can burn anytime it get hot enough. That means it might burn when the fuel is injected or it might burn on the up stroke (compression stroke) before the piston nears top dead center. have you ever crawled out from under something and stood up too soon just to smack your head on the overhang nearly knocking yourself out! that what your engine feels like it you have preigntion going. preigntion can blow holes in pistons, wear bearings, and bend or break rods.

PP and high levels of Methanol in water/meth injection give that possiblility. PP claims MPG increases but many time they leave out the cost of the PP itself. many run it without trouble and it is metered so you can run a little (might be safe) or you can run alot (isn't safe!). water/meth and NOS are both safer in my book than PP. Water does a better job of cooling and the methanol adds some power and NOS is turbo in bottle that isn't as destructive in diesels as it can be in gassers.

The water doesn't hurt anything that I know as long as the nozzle does leak. The water is injected at high enough pressure to atomize then once it hits the hot air in the intake it goes to stream as it picks up heat from the intake air. Some claim rust and what not but I doubt it.
