Hey, the chrome on my grill ('05 SD) is "fading away" and the plastic is showing through. Went to dealer and they refused to get a new one. I thought paint and chrome had a 5 year warrentee!! Reported problem at 38,000 miles, they said should have come in before the bumper to bumper expired.
Is it acceptable for a $40,000, 2 year old truck with < 40K miles to have the chrome on the grill fail??? Any ideas?
I'm a loyal Ford guy, but they shouldn't take us for granted!!
You know, I took my truck in for pits in the chrome on the running boards, scratches on the front drivers side window and I also had 2 wrinkles in the chrome coating on the grill of my 2007 F350 diesel crew cab. They replaced both running boards, replace window weatherstripping on both front windows and replaced driverside window(which i just had tinted week earlier ). They had to take digital pics of everything and send to ford...... They would not cover the wrinkles in the grill. Said it was impact damage? Plastic grill with impact damage but only caused two wrinkles??? I decided not to fight it, but when the wife gets ready for a new truck, the deal might be dependant on a new grill for my truck p.s. have the chrome package grill. My story doesnt help you much but ford apparently doesn't want to do much in regards to grills.
