i was actualy thinkin plastic u now it might be lighter lol!! but for real im lookin at some cam kits on summit and wanted to know if any one could recomend one.
Well....looks like it's got some good specs on it...and you should be able to get the torque you want from it.....however, it does say that it is NOT computer compatible...it also says it's for hydraulic flat tappet.....which...if it's the truck in your avatar...I'd think it'd be roller.....plastic would be lighter though......hmmmm Titanium?
Are you trying to change anything about the way the motor runs? If not, then just go with whatever it came ith from the factory.....and if it is a roller, it probably wont even need to be changed. If you are tying to change the motor, then what are you trying to change about it?
well im rebuilding it from the ground up lookin to pull a little more torque out of it and i found the cam on summit and was wonderin if it was worth it
A trick i learned from a buddy of mine......find the specs you want then shop around from other companies for a close if not the same specs...you'll probly get it a little cheaper than what they're askin......you're sure your's ain't a roller motor????

Do you have all the specs on the cam that came in the motor from the factory?
There should be a "Specifications Manual" for your year and model....there is for my 88 anyways. That manual has all the specs for everything on the truck.
Without knowing what you already have how are you supposed to know if the cam you are looking at or any other cam is going to be any different, better or worse for what you are trying to accomplish??
You need to look to Ford literature for this....and anything else really if you want reliable info. Ford published a "Specificatons Manual" every year for every series of vehicle...mine covers E, F and Bronco 150-350. There is probably a similar manual for your year.
