Back in August, we were getting ready to tow our 28ft. camp trailer back home and were having problems with the lights not working properly. The truck and trailerhave been sitting since. Fast forward to now- I'm toying with selling the truck and I'd like to get the trailer wiring thing fixed (especially if I end up keeping the truck for a while). I don't have any power to the left turn signal or the running lights- I've tried disconnecting the two plugs that go to the trailer plug at the bumper and cleaning all the contacts with contact cleaner, but no luck. Does anyone know if the wires for the trailer plug run clear up to the front of the truck somewhere? If so, where do they start up front so I can go there and work my way back. I hate wiring issues...
If it's a factory trailer plug like mine......It appears to only be wired in along side the fuel tank. I haven't traced but when I tied it up out of the way I saw the wires were going into an oversized area wrapped for protection. I don't use mine so I tied it back. If your's is aftermarket.......nothing you can do but trace til you find the connections.
I couldn't agree more on hating wiring issues!!
Yes they go all the way to the relay/fuse box under the hood.
Left turn is fuse "G" and the marker lights is fuse "D".
Check for a bad fuse or relay.

subford I owe you a beer! I had 3 blown fuses in the under-hood power distribution center. Replaced them and voila... full power to the trailer plug. Thanks for the help, you saved me a lot of time!
