Clunk Under drivers seat!

I noticed other post on clunks, mines a bit different, thoughts appreciated?

When turning sharp, usually just turining around in my drivway I get a clunk almost crack sound that I can feel under my drivers side, mostly were my feet are. All front suspension checks out and have new ball joints, nothing loose as I have had recent inspction of all. I suspect it maybe those long rails that run under the truck or maybe a body mount? suggestions or test I could do

I've narrowed mine down to dry ball joints.

Well if your suspension is sound it could be your seat.

Sounds similar to the clunk I had on my 01 supercab that turned out to be a seat bolt. Not the ones that held the seat frame to the body. It was one that was part of the seat frame that ran parallel to the ground and towards the doors(as opposed to front to back).

It would clunk under the seat but you would feel it under your feet- almost like the floor was cracked. It would do it only occasionally mostly in conjunction with the front end hitting a speed bump at driveway speeds. Never did it when driving on rough roads and you couldn't rock the seat or feel the seat move- although right before it was fixed I did get to reproduce the noise by holding both the seat back and seat bottom and rocking diagonally, but not everytime. I think that it would "seat" itself after doing it and then work loose as the vehicle was driven. It started doing it more and more so I took it in and the dealer fixed it under warranty with an updated bolt. I think the problem had to do with a bolt rounding out the hole it went through.

Good luck in finding the sound.

That's ironic, I had to have my bolt to floor on driver seat tightened previously as that made a noise as well, glad I wasn't the only one. This is more on the undercairage and could actualy be mor eupfront then I previously thought. Has anyone ever had the sway bar make noise as I had bolts replaced on that a year ago as one fell out?
Also would upper ball joints make noise if dry?

I think a dry ball joint would squel, more than Clunking. Unless the ball joints are worn out, then it shouldnt clunk.

I tightened my front sway bar seemed the left side needed tightening, I also lifted bottom of upper balljoint rubber boot and with needle grease gun pumped some grease in there without having to puncture boot, also I noted another nipple other then Idle arm (on bar just behind idle arm) and greased that, I diidn't know I had two spots to lube, and the clunk is gone, everything was tight so I was concerned to much, I will let you know if it starts clunking again chow for now
