made final decision on automatic

I am going to put an automatic in my truck. I feel it will be easier to drive with it... Right now its got a np435 in it. I plan on getting a c6 and dropping in it...
Here is the list of stuff I need..

c6 Transmission
Driveshaft
Shifter
starter (Was told was same but is it?)
torque converter
Transmission lines

Thats all I can think of at the moment anybody have anything to add to it? How long should I expect this project to take place? And difficulty?

Don't foret the flexplate or the flexplate bolts, and converter bolts.
Also going to need a way to cool the transmission, so some type of cooler will be in order.
Also assuming that the case of transmission fluid you already have?
Different pedal assembly, unless you do not mind driving with a little brake pedal.
Could add the proper gear for the speedo, but that might not be too important right now.
Also going to need to address your method of bolting the thing to the frame, but I would imagine that you are getting the crossmember with the trans.

When I swapped out my manual for a C6 I bought an entire donor truck for 400 dollars. That way I got the steering column, shift linkage, drive shaft, kick down rod, pedal assembly and I bought a after market transmission cooler and some steel tubing since I have a double flare tube and made my own cooler lines. I also bought a new flex plate, mounting bolts and torque converter.

I would recommend buying the parts truck that way you get everything you need. Heck you could even swap your manual setup back into the parts truck and sell it and get some of your money back.

I also rebuilt my transmission while I had it out. Was pretty simple to do, it did it in one night after work. I did work in a Caterpillar shop as a tech so I had access to parts cleaners, lifts and my toolbox. Doing it at home would take longer but still very do-able.
