Hey guys, I need some help decoding this VIN number. Every VIN decoder I have tried said this VIN isn't right, but the guy says it's a one owner truck. It's a 1975 F350. Here is the #:
Does the VIN on the frame match that on the door? It should be on top of the passenger? frame rail, in 3 different spots. Break out the putty knife and wire brush, between the firewall, and radiator support.
According to the guy that owns the truck all of the VIN #'s are matching. Here are the codes on the door if that will help: WB: 167, Color: F, Type: F377, GVW: 3BG, Body: A, Trans: D, Axle: 6J
In the past any factory crew I ran came up as F350 Crew Cab, not F350 cab & chassis. So that threw me a bit.

The GVW you listed is actually the Body code, the Body code is actually the Trans code, the Trans code you listed is part of the Axle code.
