Hello all. Barely able to start truck this morning, found some Optima red tops in Tucson for $113.00 bucks sounds good. My question is that they are only 720 CCA, is that enough for the mighty powerstroke. Also, pulled codes p1211, and p1316, could this all be related? Thanks in advance!!

Reason: codes pulled also
I just replaced my duralast batts yesterday. I got the duralast golds 850cca. They killer deal whas the 7 year warranty that came with them and the 29 dollar credit i got for my old duralast batts that dies in their 4th year. so i replace both batts in my truck for less than 90 bucks. and got a 7 year warranty to boot.
Your p1316 code could be a under the valve cover wire connector or wire harness problem.. remove the valve covers and check to see if the connector has separated like mine did afew months back.. (see my pic gallery). The gaskets are reusable..
I just picked up my second set of red optimas. 800cc 1000ca. They are the only thing i use. My first set lasted 4 yrs. today I had a bad battery. (warranty prorated it). However, the lead market went up and so did the price. I paid 179.00 each. ouch. Now they come with little inserts that make them fit in the battery trays nice and snug. Before, the clamp would not reach the base of the battery (optima).
I love em. Nice crisp power for starting and all night jammin at the lake!! and ...no messy acid and corrosion to deal with. A little less amps are ok untill they get older, then it may make a differance. For the price you say, I would give them a wirl. Warranty them out later. Befor 3 yrs, they will replace them for free. after that, they prorate.
Edit:If you havent bought them yet, check the date code on them, They may be old. (thats why there such a good deal)?? It would suck if they are close to death. 720CC may just be a little low,... Anyone try these???
