Shoulda' tossed him off an apartment balcony and see how he likes it if you ask me. At least he did get some sort of punishment, thats more than can be said for some people.

I think the punishment fits the crime and he got more jail time then many child molesters.

I was just thinking somewhat along the same lines as Rebo. When we live in a country that's willing to throw someone in jail longer for throwing a dog off a balcony than for molesting a child we've got issues. I'm not saying that it isn't a fitting punishment just that this reflects how messed up the system is.

Or someone who gets prison time because they injured a stupid bird. The endangered species rules say if an endangered animal is found on your property your rights are void. What's wrong with this picture?

Back to the OP. Am I the only one who saw that the judge threw in his own bias into the sentence?

“I’ve got to send a message to all dog lovers that we are going to protect that interest in our courtrooms,”
And I half to ask. For those of you who said to throw him off they balcony are you implying that human life is equal to that of an animal.

Yeah, OldRustBucket I was very surprised about that. If the sentence had to do with anything else and he, publicly, let everyone know his personal opinion was affecting the outcome (and it wasn't a very liberal opinion) the media would have thrown him to the lions five times over and would be screaming at the top of their lungs to have him disbarred.
