I personally do not have experience with those exact ones, but I did however have "projectors" on my Silverado before I sold it. The light output is not good. I loved the looks, but wasn't happy w/ them overall.
If you're looking for black headlamps, the $$$ but Superduty Harley lights are sweet. OEM too.
I didn't read anything about DOT approved, so if you get pulled over they might give you a ticket.
Also, I see three light sources i.e. low beam, high beam, and a small projector light, which I assume take the place of driving the driving lights?? but no front facing directional, which again depending on the officer that pulls you over may site you for this as well.
Other than that, they look cool.
IF I were you I would price out the stock ford F350 outlaw lamps, they will fit and be water tight. I thought of these myself, may not be as cheap as the ebay ones. I have seen alot of the aftermarkets leak water or have an odd light ring while projecting on a wall.
I agree with alpine6 harleys look better and are oem, bc my experince with projectors arent good, and with having to to adjust them iv'e had some come off adjustments with rough driving.
I'm with glm racers, I don't think those are street legal. Here are the lights I bought. They are aftermarket, but they are pretty much an exact copy of the factory Harley lights. The only difference I've noticed is they say Eagle Eyes on them (that is the company name).
You may want to check out your local laws. I know in IL you have to have amber reflectors on the front, and none of the lights you posted links to have them. The Ford lights, and Harley look-a-likes that I mentioned have reflectors. (The ones I mentioned also come with new bulbs instaled)
As far as putting 05-07 lights on an earlier truck it is fairly simple. You have to cut out some of the plastic behind the lights, and you'll need to get an adapter for the headlight bulbs. The easiest and best thing to do there is get a light harness from dfuser. Here is a link to the headlight harness, and the instructions for installing the lights on dfuser's site. The harness you want is the 4th item down, the 9007 to 9008 (H13) Headlight Heavy Duty Wiring HarnessConversion.
Dfuser also sells the Ford Harley lights as a kit with the wiring harness and some hardware for mounting the lights, but it is quite a bit more expensive than the lights I linked to on ebay.
I am in the process of switching all the the lights with Recon, I don't like the amber look. Thats why I was picking headlights without amber turn signals. you brought up a good point and I will have to check with local laws here in NJ.
Thanks for all the info.
I would bet most states require DOT/SAE approved lamps. Which basically rules out most of the aftermarket, although you may get away w/ running them and does not mean they are truly legal. Here in MA they have to be stock, even the aftermarket ones they sell at the dodge, toyota, honda and mitsubishi dealers that say their name on them are not legal here because they do not have reflectors. they have amber bulbs but if your truck dies and has not battery power oncoming cars will not see you until it is too late..
legal stinks when you want to have a different look from everyone else in the world w/ the same truck.
I like the 2 piece 04 setup over the 05 lol.. Only reason I haven't got Harley lights..
I've seen plenty of posts about the '05 light upgrade, so now I have to ask...
What is the impetus for switching over? Is it for looks and styling, better distributed or brighter light, better reflector, etc.? I've also seen posts about heavier wiring harnesses for higher voltage to the bulbs and pigtails, which I'm guessing are necessary to switch over to '05 lights.
