Remove cupholder from dash

when you pull the cupholder out. when you look along the top part there should be two tabs that stick up and prevent removal. take a flatblade screw driver and press them down and out it should come.

On the front there is the word "push".
I push and nothing happens, so I have to
pull on the bottom to get it open. I did
manage to get the whole thing out
(as 150mudder indicated) and see a spring
or wire that it pushes against. No way
to get to spring with cupholder in place.
