well yesterday i was doin some work on my truck and noticed that on the passanger side my rear two manifold bolts are broken. well i was thinkin of putting headers on it but was wondering if anyone had suggestions on the type to get? never really searched for headers but now they are definately a possibility.
i had the same problem on my driver side manifolds. both studs on cylinder 4 were snapped off. With both studs they had snapped off flush with the manifold, so after i took the manifold off i was able to get a threaded stud puller on them and easily backed them out. Replace all studs and use felpro gaskets as the manifolds aren't machined real precisely and the factory shims likely didn't shim it up right and the heat made the studs pop
You have the best source of truck parts here and who needs to call when you can find exactly what you want and have it delivered to your door via the internet.
i think he means how much it will cost to install them. it took me about 2 hours to do one side, and im sure a pro could get it done much faster. it just depends on if and how many studs break off.
alright so at worst case senario im lookin at 5 hr lbr if every stud breaks, lol. well a guy i used to work with knows some people at an exhaust shop. ill go talk to them about gettin some headers and the lbr. ah...such an expense i dont need right now. but hey, its an excuse for more power though.
