I have a 2001 Excursion. i have a problem starting it sometimes. When i try to start it nothing happens, but all the dummy lights work and one time i pulled the second relay and pushed it back in and it started right up. This last time it would not start i pulled the same relay and pluged it back in and nothing happend. But i noticed the number two relay was really hot. so i bought a new one and put it in. but it still wouldn't start. and i went back out there two hours later and it started right up. so i pulled the new one out which was hot also and put in the old one. and it started right up. what could be the problem? could it be the starter cylinoid or the ignition switch? because something is making the number two relay get hot. and something is not leting the starter turn over when the truck is hot. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be?
You will want to post your question in the tech forums since this one is used for introductions. Click on the Forums tab at the upper left and scroll down to the Excursion forum. Somebody there will be able to help you out.
