Electric Jacks Heads up

I sent this to another forum, but tought it may be helpful to RV owners on this list.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
Here is a "heads ups" for you folks that have electric jacks. Before
leaving a campground Sunday, I was doing a walk around and discovered
that my right front jack did not fully retract. I recycled the jacks
and it went down but didn't retract at all. Bummer!!!!!

The jacks can be retracted manually and fortunately I had the correct
socket and wench. Unfortunately the extension I had was not long
enough to allow enough clearance from the surrounding parts of the
motorhome. I had only enough clearance for the wrench to rotate no
more than about a quarter turn. It took a long time, banged knuckles,
a blister and a lot of effort, to retract the jack. Needless to say,
I am going shopping for a LONG extension that will allow the wrench
to clear the motorhome and make a full turn. That will make this a
relative easy task.

It may be well worth your time to check how much clearance you need
to easily retract your jacks.

Regards,
Jack

While you're at the store get a speed handle to go along with the extension. (Looks like an old brace and bit drill.) It might be long enough that you won't need another extension.

18V cordless drill/impact driver....all you need is the 3/8 adapter to chuck it up, then all you have to do is pull the trigger and watch'er go
