Hello all, I'm new to FTE and I am researching Turbo options for my '05 F250 4x4 w/6.8 3v. I don't want to go wild- just add 100hp without blowin' it up.
Does anyone have some good info on this?
I don't believe that any turbo kits exist out there for the V10s. There's a centrifugal blower available I believe from Vortech. Alternately, STS turbo has some universal turbo kits that might help.
100 hp will still blow stuff up if you use it frequently, and it will certainly reduce the service life of your vehicle. Don't let people tell you that it's not a big deal and won't have any effect on reiability.
to bad it wasn't a v2 cause then you could get a vortech supercharger system, because they say "This system will increase horsepower from 310 to 464 and will increase torque from 425 lb./ft. to 542 lb./ft." Other than that just look for a supercharger they are better for toque than turbos generally.
The exhaust on the 3V motors is the best system Ford has ever put on the trucks. You will not see any significant gaims in power or mileage with exhaust work. You will get a louder sound tho. If you read through some of the other exhaust posts you can gain alot more info. Welcome to FTE
