Compressor stopped working..

I have a 2000 expo eb and my suspension compressor just stopped working it was fine yesterday ad today nothing. Won't even attempt to turn on. Where can I look to see if a wire popped off or if I can do this myself?

You are the same member that had the compressor running all the time, correct?

I would say the compressor is finished or check the connections at the compressor. ( under windshield washer resevoir )

My money is on that it is done ( compressor ) if it was running all the time.

Hey Smiggs, Well I think thats the case too. i have a buddy that works for ford, he told me that a compressor and suspension module is $400 (his cost) labor installation is $600.
I am just going to yank out the entire air ride system and put in a conversion kit for less than half that price. Have you heard anything about Suncore Industries conversion kits? I saw someone recommend them about 5 months ago. Or anyone else used a conversion kit?

What I've been hearing is that this is the place to go for the conversion or for parts for the LLS.

I'm probably going to order a new compressor and dryer with the spyder connection just incase.

My 2001 Expy has 60k and the compressor got noisey and seemed to run longer than usual [rubber mounts shot] and I think the compressor was leaking if that's possible.

Just before the 4000 mile trip east then back west I replaced the compressor. It cost $550 or so retail at the dealer, I asked for a discount and got it for $320 IIRC. The model with 2 tubes on the dryer.

Installation required 3 longer mtg bolts, anbout 35 mm are fine, this isn't mentioned so pick them up before you tear things apart.

Removed the battery, battery rack [4 screws], loosened the windshield wiper tank and pump and moved them aside and pulled compressor/bracket asm.

You might want to siphon the washer fluid from the tank before removing.

When reinstalling, route the small tubing so as not to pinch anything.

Took maybe an hour to do the job.

To me it's worth it to keep my Expy stock and I tow so the air ride is great.

ETA, cable tie the various hoses so small battery acid "drips" don't eat them up.
