Anybody swapped in a good aftermarket Y pipe on their 5.4L? I was thinking of building a custom ss one if there isn't anybody that makes one. I run Borla cat back, but want to swap cat forward now...rust is getting to it up here in salt country. Like to improve the sound a little by trying a high flow cat also? Any suggestions?
I bought and installed one of those from upay earlier this spring. Fit and quality was pretty good. Mine was an 04 F250 / 5.4 with the factory restricted y-pipe. You might get one fabricated cheaper, but not by much.
Good luck
Yet again I realize I'm dragging up an old thread but it's what I've found using the search feature. I'm looking to replace my 03' F250 5.4L factory restrictive y-pipe with a better flowing aftermarket unit. The link above doesn't work any longer and I was wandering if anyone could point me in the right direction?
I recently installed a y-pipe on my 5.4 that I got from ebay. Although there are no units listed today on ebay from the same seller, they are, IMO, a very cheap and inxepensive mod that I would recommend that any 99-04 SD (5.4) owner do to their rig. You WILL notice a difference.
