I have a 90 F250 with a 351w. When I step on the brakes, the pedal goes all the way to the floor. I can stop, however the pedal needs to be pushed all the way to the floor. Is this a master cylinder leak?
Low fluid, air in system, leak in master, leak in slave, soft brake lines and probably a couple others.
Easiest to check/fix is fluid level. Check that first. If it is at the bottom of the reservoir, you probably also sucked air. Both of these problems probably can be fixed with a good bleeding.
Leaky masters and slaves are usually visible and usually accompanied by low fluid. Sometimes the master will leak thru the power assist so you might not see a master leak since the power assist may be sucking it into the engine.
Soft brake likes are rubber hoses usually at the wheel that have gotten soft and pump up when the brakes are applied. This needs to be fixed before you have a blown line and NO brakes.
Most likely is low fluid and or air in the system.
I have found what appears to be a leak at the master cylinder. As for the rear breaks, I started there, as I found one of them to be a mess when I bought the truck, and those appear fine now. I guess that I work on what I hoped not to be the issue.(Master Cylinder). Any words of advice??
