i ran across a truck that the guy said was a 92 f350 but it had the front end styling like ours. what was the change over year. i thougt a 92 should have the same styling as the late 80's. my dad had a 91 f150 and it had the late 80's front end. was 92 the first year of our body style?
i dont know about 92, but i know 93 looks pretty much the same with the exception of the front bumpers. the pre powerstroke has a solid bumper while the psd's have opennings in the bumpers for increased airflow. hope this helps some.
you should explain it as 87-91 as corner markers only.
and 02-97 as corner and front marker lights.
The headlight is the major exterior difference between the 2.
The inside dash is the second difference.
and the change in RABS from Rear only to Full ABS.
Introduction of OBD2 was in... 94 i think,
And there was a tale gate change in 92.
As for bumpers, i rarely notice those changes. but i'm sure tehy weret oo.
oh and the mirrior change.
Those are the "major" changes in 87-91 to 92-97(minus 97 f150)
Edit.
haha. rememberd some moer. (trying to get some clickies here)
WIndshield wipers changed, as well as the cowel panel. I'm not sure if the hood changed or not.
Location of winsheild wiper controll module and other things are now in the glovebox after 92.
Yea, they changed the hoods.
I just cant think "exactly" what is different between the 2.
I think my 91 was more blunt, and my 95 has more of an angle to the middle.
Yea. tahts the nice thing about fords, big bubba87, lots of interchangeable parts.
Frame is diff from 91-92 also, but mostly from what i can tell its just in front of the engine for crash test standards.
My 95 looks like it will crush, while my 91 woulda just smashed anything in it touched.
the older ones had less of and arch in the middle of the hood. also they had more of a slope going all the way across the front of them making them look taller.
