Little help?

I have had some trouble with my 06 6.0. On a long trip it started to run crappy. Got home and started it the next a.m. and it ran rough and blew out soot. Ran fuel out and cleaned egr, no codes, boost good, changed oil, and def. runs better but my idle does not step up when started cold? When idling it seems to be affected a little more than usual if I hit the brakes or apply an electrical load. Any ideas?

I'm gonna bump this to the top for ya. Sounds like some kind of harness problem since you have no codes? How many miles on your rig? Last fuel filter service? On the idle it normally takes a minute or two before the high idle kicks in IF you start below a certain temperature. I've not a clue on this one, but someone else will come pick your brain apart further than I can or someone with a similar situation/cure. It also sounds like you might have gotten some rotten fuel. Have you tried a dose of powerservice or stanadyne in your tank?

12,000 miles. Always run grey powerservice, except I was in a hurry on trip and did not use it-6 fill ups. 2,000 since fuel filters & am a fanatic about maintainance. I think I hear a faint tick when I put it in drive at idle and also at very light throttle around 70 mph. It puts out a little more black smoke that I remeber previously. Fuel pressure is good. Thanks guys, any input is greatly appreciated.
