Fuel Tank Size

I have a 95 F150 XLT extended cab 5.8 engine with dual tanks any idea what size these tanks are. Why, the rear tank never seems to run out of gas it has to be bigger than the front.

19.0 Front, 18.2 Rear, unless it was ordered special. If it has the spare tire under the rear it is the 18.2. My 95 had a bad check valve in the front tank and when I ran on the rear it would refill the front tank. Yours could be doing that except refilling the rear.

my rear gauge is a lot worse than the front. last time i checked, it ran 40+ miles with the needle resting on E on the rear before it started to putter. i assume yours is the same.

Be careful ordering your tanks. The rear tanks are the same. But as I found Saturday afternoon that the side mount tanks are different. I also have a '95 F150 Supercab, It has the smaller 16 gallon tank. Before I looked I ordered up a 19 gallon thinking the extended cap naturally got the bigger tank. WRONG!! Today, my '95 is sitting in the driveway with no tank waiting for the rain to stop so I can put in the right tank.

As far as your rear tank never being empty is it possible your front tank is dropping fuel over to the rear tank? I have a '96 that does this, rear to front though. These trucks are noted for crossflow issues.
