Uhhh, what am I missing?

I just got these new MSD super conductor wires and this piece.. doesn't seem to fit anywhere? It's on the wire that's supposed to connect the coil to the cap.

Mine came with a short coil wire and a long coil wire. I had to use the long one and tuck the extra under the upper intake as my coil is mounted right by the dizzy and the wires were originally designed for the Fox cars which the coil is on the fender.

That wire is for use with an older style coil or a msd coil.
