2v or 3v

Hello all......

I have a 2005 Excursion with the v-10.

How do I know if it is 2-v or 3-v??

Is one better than the other??

Your 05' X has the 2V.

I have a pic of the 3V engine in my gallery.

The 3V has aluminum valve covers, a black plastic intake and more header-like exhaust manifolds.

The 2V has black plastic valve covers and an aluminum intake as well as manifolds that look like a log.

Thanks dfk.... I've heard chatter back and forth about the 2-3 v but didn't know how to tell them apart.

Not sure the valve covers are aluminum, I think they are just a light colored grey plastic but they do have the black plastic intake though which should be the easiest way to tell.
