leaf spring hangers

Leaf spring hangers can be added to a already lifted truck right? I have a 6" lift now and would like to add either a 2 or 3 inch hanger kit to lift it a little more. and if so where is the best place to go one CHEAPEST and a decent bradn, truck already rides like a board so doesn;t need to be ride qualitly....in case it matters it has the procomp 6.5" lift already

I went with rubicon express, if I recall they were around 280.00 and pretty stout stuff

Too bad it rides so rough with only 6 inches. That is not so much spring, anyway, yes you can add a hanger kit, but you will find that your trac bar bracket may not be low enough and the drag link will be short, sway bar links will also be short, and the driveshaft is going to fall a little short. In fact the driveshaft may fall out under full extension. If you brake lines were a bit tight at 6 inches, they are going to be at the limit when you get to the 8 inch mark, and the shock length will need to be addressed.
I no longer run a trac bar. I usually throw them in a pile at the shop for lifts over 6 inches, and the same is true for the sway bars, but you will still have to address the driveshaft.

so you don't think it will work then? it sits at about 5" lift kit right now b/c the springs sag so much, if i get this 2.5 inch kit i will only need to add the kit, extend brakelines and extend driveshaft right? i don;t need the sway bar and trac. bar? is there a way to check and see if any of these parts will be long enough? atleast check driveshaft?

Well yes, and no. Lets start with the sway bar. Remove the links at the lower end, tie them up safely and drive it. Pretty sure you will not notice the difference. If those springs are as rough riding as you say, I am sure the truck sway is a thing of the past, and will not be an issue.
Once you get that entirely removed, you can conduct a similar experiment with the trac bar. Remove one end and tie it well to something secure so it does not bounce around, and drive it. The same is true here, and I very much doubt that you will notice any difference. MAtter of fact I picked up a couple of inches of flex when I threw the very first one in the scrap pile. This is designed to locate the front axle when the whimpy stock springs are used. Now that you have a beefy pos arch spring, they will limit axle side to side motion by themselves.
The next thing will be the brake, ABS, and vacuum lines for the ESOf system. There is a bracket on the frame that can be relocated and there might be enough slack to get you what you are looking for without replacing.
That leaves the driveshaft,,,,,,(dramatic pause) your local 4wd shop will, or can provide you with a spacer for the front shaft. This shaft has a flange style yoke at the transfer case, and is attached by 4 bolts. After you lift the truck again, you will find that about a 1 inch spacer needs to be inserted, and that is about the max I would expect to run with regards to spacers. The bolts will be too long to fit the flanges anyway, so you are aslo limited by this as well.
So yeah, run a small spacer on the t-case side od the shaft and you should be good to go. A one inch spacer is good right to 8 inches of lift with the proper pinion angle.
Use good quality bolts, and a solid steel spacer nothing aluminum that can flex or move. As I recall there may or may not be one actually made for this (though that is hard to believe), I think in the past, I have used a spacer for a CV from a Chebby, and drilled the existing holes out a bit larger. Only cost a few bucks.
I think that is it. Should work fine

Strokin, how did you determine you only have 5" of lift ? I thought I had a lift that saggged, you measure from center of locking hub to bottom of fender. An F250 is 24" stock. I found out that my bushings were ruined and spring was almost resting on the bolt. It was a Pro Comp lift, I then installed urethane bushings.

Speaking of spring hangers, A guy I work with just bought an F250 with the Fabtech 8.5 kit in it and he wants to bring it down to stock. Please don't ask why ! Does any one still have some stock front hangers and a stock pitman arm that they may want to part with? I have the stock track bar bracket and rear blocks from where I lifted my superduty but I need these other parts to put his truck back down. Thanks.
