No more miss
Last friday got my oil and filter changed at ford dealer. Came home with a miss. Thanks to the advice from all of you guys, no more miss. Turns out it was from the oil change. Air !!!! They didn't put oil in the filter. The dealer said that should not have anything to do with a miss! Alot of you's said it may be air in the system or an electrical problem. So sat. morning before I touched the motor, I started it up waiting for it to start missing, no miss!!!!!! Drove it around a couple of right foot to the floor runs, no miss.... Learned something new and so did they I hope. They offered me a free oil change on my next visit, because of the oil filter,and oil plug were leaking too!! There going to be waiting a long time!! for my next visit!! Thank You again, feel much better now!!

Ray, he said his filter and drain plug were leaking also. filter leaking = not sealed, and air intrusion is possible. When I originally made the post about air in his system and the filter not being filled, it was from a lesson learned the hard way. Way back in the spring I did this, and went so far as to have AMILLER93 come over and put the AE on my truck so we could see what was going on. nothing ever came up on the AE, but it hit me a couple of weeks later when I changed out my HPX hose for a SS HPX hard line, and got a little air in the oil galleries. I had a dead miss for a day of babying it driving scared that something was broken. a litlle stomp and romp and the air was gone.

a gasket leak shouldn't induce air into system
as far as filling filter it is probably a good idea and a must for late model big 3 engines as some have suffered bearing damage before system was fully primed
