Another new guy..
2001 Excursion Limited V 10 4WD...
Ran across the site (so to speak) while researching my R4100 trans swap (got caught in the bad diode/sprag TSB in the 7 month window... looks like this is the second replacement for my rig at 84K, because the build date was 09 00 for the car, bot 03 01 for the trans... plus the driveshafts have been marked for a swap.)
Anywho, got a lot of info out of this site, including some great references for transmission sources. Isn't it amazing that shops in this area wanted between $3500 to $4000 to fix this?
So, I'm doing it myself. And part of why I'm doing it is this site.
I would recommend wrestling this issue out on your own, because with the money you can save, you sure can get a great tool set!
