Just saying hello

Just joined the forum last night. Right now I own a 98 Dodge Ram 1500, 111800 miles on it. Would like to move up to a 3/4 ton truck. Right now I'm thinking of either a Dodge 2500 with a Cummins Diesel or a Ford with a V10 which is why I joined this forum. I currently pull a Travel Trailer, 7500 lbs last time it was wieghed, but there is a possibility on some farther travels where it could be loaded up to a little over 8000 lbs. Will not be purchasing anything right now, I'm thinking by next summer, but now is the time to do my homework on trucks. I have owned Ford products in the past, We had a 91 Aerostar that served us well for almost ten years, and a 99 Contour that I traded in on present TV. I'm not brand loyal to anybody. Pretty much what I can get a good deal on, and what is in good condition. However will not be buying brand new, cannot justify the ridiculous cost for something that depreciates so quickly for the price you have to pay. I also keep my vehicles for a long time. So I'll probably look at F250s in the '03 to '06 range. I'll be checking in on this forum from time to time, and may even ask some questions. Thanks

Welcome!

Yes, use the tech forums to do your research. The towing forum would be a good one to see what people think and of course the Super Duty board will have people with a strong opinion on what to get. I'm betting most will recommend the diesel over the gas V10. Checkout your state chapter and see who else is here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum85/

Good Luck finding that truck!
