6.9 exhaust

i have an 87 f250 with a 6.9 right noe it has 2 1/4 inch duals with glass packs on it i want to put bigger exhaust on it what are some good ideas i was thinkin 3" duals all the way back with no muffler

ya i figured it would be loud is $250 to high for dual 3" all the way back?

I think dual 3" is too large. Go with 2 1/2 instead. If you make it too large, you won't have much power under the curve. (Ok, so its a 6.9 it always has lots of power) Also, the fuel economy may be penalized if you make it too large. (the exhaust stops scavenging efficiently at certain rpm with part throttle) But I agree, it would sound awesome. And that price is not bad. I just think that dual 2 1/2 would be a little cheaper, and would be plenty loud, and would give you good power throughout the powerband.

That would be a good price for mandrel bent pipe. $250 installed?

Your engine will run great with 3" duals.

yes 3" dualls from the motor back installed i want it as loud as i can it would be a couple hundred more if i put mufflers on it but i dont want any it will eventually get a turbo too
