Get rid of those auto hubs, I think you need the coversion kit if your current hubs have the 3 screws securing the hub on. Not all axles need the conversion. Mine did not. You will love the new Warns, they are positive in action and look better too.

Welcome to FTE juicebronco89. The auto hubs do suck.... there is no sugar coating it. They can (and will) also fail on you at the wrong time. It sounds like one of your hubs is bad... but they really should both be replaced at the same time. Are you looking at upgrading to the Warn premiums? I did when I had my bronco, and never looked back. They are real stout units. Many here have also switched to Milemarker hubs with no issues too (I just prefer the Warns). You will only need the conversion kit, as stated above, if you have the 3 bolt hubs. Take a look at your hub.... how many hex heads do you see? If its 3, you need the kit. If it is 5 or 6, you do not. Good luck with the conversion.

You shouldn't need the conversion kit, as the 3 screw autos were 94-96 (unless they broke before and they were "updated" when repaired). All the conversion kit does is replace the single large retaining nut with the two smaller nuts and washer found on any pre-94 D44. So if you do have need the conversion kit save yourself the money and go to the junk yard.

no. Its my understanding that 94 is when they "upgraded" to the 3 bolt, but they had to use up the 5 bolt parts left in inventory. so it depends on when your '94 was actually built. early 94 models (built in mid to late '93) will more than likely have 5 bolts and later 94s will be 3 bolts.

Kinda like in 88 the early 88s had the hat type rotor/hub assembly - like early Rangers, no retaining screws - later that year a "running change" was made to the bolt on hubs.
