running rich and electrical problems

ok i picked up a 88 f150 single cab long bed 4x4 with a 351EFI and c6. i got it for cheap but i knew it had some problems so i was willing to work with it. first off, it was running rich. the guy said it was a fuel pressure regualtor. so i bought a FPR, plugs, wires, rotor, and button. before, it would just turn over and take about 15 seconds to start. after the that stuff it fires the second you hit the key. still has a problem. it idles up to about 1300rpms. thought maybe the idle was turned up. turned the screw out and didnt make a difference. thought maybe the o2 sensor was bad. went to pull it out but....the exhaust is cut off after the resonator. iv talked to two people and one said there is supposed to be a cross over tube when its still duals before it goes into the resonator. and another person said its between the resonator and cat. i cant find the wire where it comes off the harness for it. i went and bought a new o2 sensor and im having duals put on the truck...where should i have the o2 bung put in at? do you think that will solve my running rich problems? i have another motor harness that im going to install because the one in it is kinda hacked up

then the passenger door, it has power, but the door lock button works but the window wont go down. and the speaker in that door doesnt work. had old ford speakers sitting around from my old 86 and its the same speaker and they were good when i took them out. still didnt work. but the driver side does. pulled the radio out and both plugs are plugged into the back of the radio. and what about the window? do u think its the window motor?

and finally. the headlights. when i pull the switch, the marker lights come on but the headlights dont. i find it hard to believe that both bulbs could be blown but i could be wrong. and it couldnt be a headlight switch could it? beacuse the marker lamps still come on.

thanks for any and all help!

You might replace the ACT sensor. I changed mine last night and it helped with the rich smell when running, and it also smoothed out my idle some. The fast idle on yours could be a vacuum leak somewhere. I was fooling around with mine last night and pulled the vacuum cap off the tree and it idled way up until I put it back on.

It will definatly make a difference without it the computer doesn't know if it's rich or lean, but it will make corrections based on tables it has stored in it's memory. the engine will not run well because it will be running in limp home mode until it is repaired correctly. After you get the exhaust done you should check for EEC codes and repair any problems associated with any codes you recieve. I mentioned the ACT sensor because if it is original it will be dirty and need replacing.

I don't know much about the 351s, but all the others I have seen have one O2 sensor at the point where the two lead pipes join together. Check some place like Summit for Magnaflow direct fit CATs and the diagram will show the location of the O2 bung

i looked at that link but it does not show how my exhuast is, or whats left of it...mine comes down off the manifold and each pipes goes into the resonator and its only about 12 in long and it comes out 1 pipe and the rest is cut off. that pic shows it y-ing into one and about 2 foot of pipe before the cat. and that pic also shows the o2 bung being when its still duals, and mine doesnt have that....no one else on here has a 88 f150 witha 351w they can just look under?
