5 Spd Swap

I am finally trying to put a transmission in a 1987 Bronco II. I purchased it with a bad Transmission (FM145). I have a 1988 donor that has a FM146. It seems that by using drive shafts from the donor the FM146 will work fine. My question is; do I need to use the fly wheel from the donor or are they the same (both 2.9L engines)? I will be putting in a new clutch kit I have the transmission out of the donor. Are there any tips I need to know about putting it back in the 87?

I looked it up on-line, looks like the same flywheel # for both years and both transmissions.

You should have the flywheel resurfaced or for $35 just buy one already resurfaced at Advance Auto.

That is very good advice. I will get a new one. How about the slave cylinder is that something that should be replaced as well?
