I, too, have had the same funny stuff happening to my truck. Mine is a '91 FI 6L. My Check Engine light does the same thing you guys are talking about. And I think you might be going in the right direction with the O2 censor being the culprit. I had my truck for about a year before I had dual exhaust put on it, and during that year, the check engine light never came on. But after I put the duals on it, the light comes on and goes every now and then. When the guy put the duals on, he had to remove the cats and the o2 censor to get everything to fit right, so I'm fairly sure that's the culprit. But it hasn't hurt anything so far, to my knowledge. The best, and cheapest quick fix for this problem is get you a little strip of electrical tape, and cover the damn thing up, and you'll never have to deal with it again.
I also have dual exhaust on my truck, with gutted kittys. I have had the kittys gutted for about 4 years and the duals for about 3 years. Never had anything with the light until now. I went and got the new IAT sensor, and replaced it. Now my question is, how do I clear the codes on the computer?? If I remember right I just have to disconnect the battery for a little while then hook it back up and good to go. But I just want to make sure. Thanks guys!!
