No Joke, a guy I was hunting with shot through my passenger door and the Mephis speaker. Went right through the magnet. The head unit comes on but no matter what I try nothing comes out any speaker. Only the RF was damaged. I have checked the fuses and amp. Everything seems to be ok. It has a factory head unit. Are there any fuses I have missed. Are there any on the back of the head unit. I do not understand why one speaker going out would kill all of them.
I have found that when messing around with my speaker wires, shorting the wires together or on a ground will shut the all the speakers off but those were by accident and I never waited to see what would happen.
It's possible that the damaged speaker shorted the internal amp in the stock radio. There's probably not much that can be done about that.
Not sure about the RADIO fix, but I'd be looking for another 'hunting buddy'. I may be wrong but a gun never shot anything by itself - it's goofy - it needs help -.
You got that right.....Luckily the 300 win mag did not hit anyone. There is a baseball size hole in the passenger door. Insurance claim, $50.00 total......He is going to be looking for a long time...Word travels quick here. There was a lot of squeal in the speakers moments after the fatal shot. Then nothing. All the amp fuses, etc. and radio fuses are fine. It powers up but nuttin happens as far as sound. I am going to try a new head and see it that fixes it...Thanks
